Had the above message come up on my Focus 1.6tdci several times two weeks ago, so took it in to the local Ford Dealer. They said there was nothing wrong and reset the Engine Management System. Warning has since come back, 4 times in the last 3 days, so looks like another trip to the Ford Garage. Could someone give me some advice on the current issue I have with my Ford Focus. Its a bit of a story but I will keep to the facts about what I know. Purchased the car a Focus Estate Ghia Mk2 55 reg 2.0 petrol Duratec HE. If im in 4th or 5th, and the revs go over around 2200, I get the red triangle 'engine malfunction' I can clear this code, and the car is ok again (but will still judder) It also seems to use a lot more fuel than normal Hi guys, Out driving today and alarm goes off and 'Engine Malfunction!' appears on the driver info screen. No other warnings lights. Car drove but reduced power (guessing limp mode?). Stopped, switched off and back on and car went back to normal for two minutes before the warning came up again. It looks a bit odd at 1494 sec, when the APP goes to 84%, but the FRP limits to about 1200Bar. Then the worst part is about 1597 sec. APP is 0, but FRP swings wildly up to 1800Bar.
